target audience

This is our survey we made for our opening title sequence of the film, Surfing, school and so much drama.
When films are trying to identify their target audience, They like to know what they like and what they do to follow what to put in their film. They have to think about the main things about the target audience like, Who are these people? What will the role be of the main character? Teenager? Old women or man? Do they have jobs? Are they business owners or unemployed? What is the average income? Are they college educated? do they live in the city or on the farm? What is their background story? Why they have a film? From this research, you can create audience profiles for five ideal types of movie fans that base the audience around, and eventually get to the point where they know the primary target audience. They then have to focus on figuring out why that group of people should watch their movie figuring out why these people enjoy your genre. They have to consider another load of questions like: Why would they want to watch your movie? What makes you movie unique from the other, competing movies in existence? how will your movie to appeal to viewing needs of your audience? If the film doesn't make you feel caught from either the trailer or the first opening two minutes, then is it a good movie? or do you want a film that makes you feel like you can engage what is happening and relate to it in real life yourself.
Napoleon Dynamite
Napoleon Dynamite has the same sub genre as my group and i are heading towards for our film. Their target audience are 12-17 males. There is a lot of teen films that don't have the age as 12 but Napoleon was made as a PG, opening up to the possibility of their secondary target audience containing younger children.
Mean girls
mean girls has the same sub genre as Napoleon Dynamite but has the target audience are for teenage females age 16-20, due to the fact that there is sexual actions and adult talks. Napoleon Dynamite has their main character as a male aged 16 for the target audience and so does mean girls and it is based in a school which shows a teenagers 'tough life'. We are hopefully heading this kind of way for our opening with the same target audience and sub genre.
Demographic
The taget audience for our teen comedy film is aimed around the ages of 13-18 years. most of the target audience will be based around young females. Our main character is a white female so we are aiming our film around white teenagers. The film will be taking place in Cornwall so our target audience will be mainly cornish. In Cornwall, the white population is 95.7% of the whole cornish population.
Physiographic
Our main character in our movie, will be someone who is aspiring to become popular. SO if someone isn't popular that makes others think that they don't have friends which our main character will be fighting against. She is someone who desperately wanting to be accepted by her peers and the people around her. Also with her name she wants a power image which is wanted buy her peer friendship group, and wanting a status which sees her as a popular person at her school.
